Jan Blanchard, former Purchasing Director at Ohlone and one of the college's first employees, has developed pancreatic cancer.

Blanchard was described by her friend Elaine Nagel as a "no nonsense lady who got things done. Her way." Nagel continued, "Some of the best equipment and furniture is still here because Jan knew (where) to get the best."
Blanchard currently lives with her daughter Nicole and her granddaughter Sherri.
Nagel is in contact with Blanchard's family. On Wednesday April 30 Nagel was told that Blanchard was comfortable. She had received a blood transfusion the day before which "helped her immensely," Nagel wrote in an email.
